Jonathan Adler is obsessed. With pottery, with needlepoint, animals, chinoiserie and color. Just look at his cheeky accessories, his fantastical makeover of Parker Palm Springs and Eau Palm Beach, and the salty and stylish mark he’s made on the world of irreverence. Born in farm town New Jersey, the designer and artist was first lured by ceramics at summer camp, and refined his talent for the craft at RISD while he studied semiotics and art history at Brown. After a stint working in the film industry, he decided to focus solely on making pots, sold a line to Barneys, and embarked on a career where more is not only more, it’s not enough. Today, through his global design house, he and his team create furniture, lighting, accessories, and luxe and livable interiors that are seriously designed but don’t take themselves too seriously. They believe in several things we believe in. Among them: your home should make you happy; colors can’t clash; and minimalism is a bummer. So we’re thrilled to have Jonathan Adler as part of our journey.
