Orpheus & Eurydice
Gio Ponti was born in Milan in 1891. He was a celebrated architect, designer and artist, and considered a master of his crafts and one of the most important designers of the 20th century. This graphite on paper drawing from 1947 depicts the stage costumes for the opera Orpheus and Eurydice by Christoph Willibald Gluck.
